The blurb:

A wonderful story of friendship, intrigue and romance

Grace has always been best friends with Ella and Flick. The late-night chats, shared heartaches and good times have created a bond that has stood the test of time.

When Ella invites them to stay for a week in her cottage in South Wales, Grace jumps at the chance to see her old friends. She also hopes that the change of scenery will help her reconnect with her distant husband.
Then Flick arrives; lovable, bubbly, incorrigible Flick, accompanied by the handsome and charming Noah.

This is going to be week that will change all their lives for ever . . .

Join Grace, Ella and Flick for a week of love, laughter tears and friendship in “A Cottage by the Sea”

My Opinion:

A beautiful story about the most important things in life...

A nice holiday in a cottage by the sea? What’s better than that? Well, Grace’s husband Harry isn’t really keen on the idea, but he goes anyway. Yeah, Harry is Grace’s husband, but at the moment they’ve been really distant.
Grace’s best friend Ella invites them for week and that’s the opportunity to see each other again and to catch up. Of course also Flick is invited, their other best friend.
The three of them have been friends since university, so more then 12 years and they rarely see each other, so that’s just perfect.
Ella has been with Art for several years, but they are not married and he seems to hook up with other girls sometimes. He doesn’t want to commit and settle down. Art is a band manager and tours around the world all the time.

Grace hopes that this holiday helps to get the spark back into her marriage.

When Grace goes for a walk the first evening, she bumps into Noah, gorgeous, attractive and incredibly sexy Noah. See feels the spark between them already and then he reveals, that he is there with Flick. And anyway, she has a husband ... The spark between Noah and Grace was tangible instantly and I was just curious what was going to happen between the two of them, nor not …

Throughout the story the two of them always end up together, enjoy the nature and the beautiful landscape. Flick and Harry on the other hand always get drunk and they’re desperate for phone reception.
Ella has a secret of her own and Grace finds out. How is he going to tell Art?

Flick is determined to settle down and wants to propose to Noah, oh oh!!!
Noah and Grace enjoy each other’s company very much and when they are finally all alone in a cave by the see they admit their feelings for each other. I love this scene, because they are true to their feelings and Carole has found an amazing way to share this with the readers.

Suddenly everything is turned upside down: Ella and Art fight and Flick proposes to Noah.

The next morning Grace and Noah go on a trip to an island and there she confronts him. The tension is reachable for the reader, however, we still don’t know if they will make it. Which made me read constantly, I just wanted to find out.

Something life changing happens after. What about Noah and Grace?

You can feel the spark, chemistry and the attraction between Grace and Noah immediately. As a reader you just want them to get closer and kiss, but this never happens until.., I couldn’t put this book down, it was so gripping!!!
