Not Quite Perfect is a
story about two sisters, Emma and Rachel. Emma seems to have it all, she is
engaged to her gorgeous Martin and she is a successful editor. Rachel is
married to Steve and they have three sweet children. However, they are both not
very happy. Rachel wants to get out, work again and have fun and Emma?! Well,
her fiancé isn’t as perfect as she thought he is and then there is her new
client Richard, he’s very attractive.
Rachel is also unhappy with
Steve’s work situation, will the have to move to Scottland?!
Both women see their world
turning upside down, facing fights and problems, not only at work or with their
men, no the whole family was involved. I quite enjoyed the drama going on and I
liked the switch between Emma’s and Rachel’s story, because they were still
always connected. I have to say that I enjoyed Emma’s story more at the
beginning, but also Rachel’s story got sparklier. Two great characters being
there for each other and trying to help each other, like sisters would do.
AT times I felt that there
was almost too much going on, which brought the storyline to a certain stop at
times. One thing I found a little irritating was Rachel’s daughter Lily. A four
year old girl can be clever and smart yes, but talking like that?! It seemed a
little weird for me…
Not Quite Perfect is a
great title for this book. The writing is bubbly and vivid and very
entertaining. It’s a story about trying to find out what is important in life
and also that live can’t be perfect all the time.
