How many times do you post per week?

Every blogger has a schedule, some post every day, some post 2-3 times a week, some have exact days when they post, others just post whenever they feel like or when they wrote a new post.

All these ways are fine and everyone can do it the way they want. You have to feel comfortable, and most importantly you shouldn’t put yourself under pressure. Time is the key here. If you don’t have the time to write a post or you can’t keep up, move the post back. Book bloggers can’t always do that, because we have blog tour dates, but you can also say no to a blog tour. Taking too much on, just to please everyone doesn’t help.

What actually inspired me to write this post was a blogger, who scheduled four blog posts for one day. I think they were all blog tours, maybe not all reviews, but it still means a lot of work. Of course there is no right or wrong, but I’d still like to think quality over quantity. It just made me think, if keeping the blog busy, is always a good thing. Having more than one blog tour a day is not my thing. It’s the author’s day on my blog, so there should be nothing else, so that the post gets all the attention.

There are weeks, when I post daily, but the topics are different. Some are book related, some lifestyle and others traveling. I think the mixture makes it more interesting.
Daily posting definitely helps you with your writing. You get more comfortable writing posts and it gets easier, because you have a routine.

In my opinion the most important thing to have a good rhythm, because that will keep the readers engaged. The content however, needs to be good and interesting. Whether daily or several times a week doesn’t really matter, occasionally having two posts a day is fine, but four is too much!

  1. I try to post twice a week, but recently I've been struggling to keep up with that, just because I've been particularly busy. I totally agree that it's up to you to set a posting schedule you feel you can keep up with, and not put yourself under pressure, as blogging is meant to be fun, so you don't want to end up with it feeling like a chore, or like homework. Great post! :)

  2. Love this.
I used to post every day, which was fine until I got a second (writing) job and I decided to cut back the blog posts a bit. Now I post 4 times a week, with additional one-off series posts on the days that don't have scheduled posts.
I'm finding it a lot easier now and glad I changed it up a little.
    :)
